Download and extract
Download the ZIP above. Extract it into a permanent folder such as Documents\TrafficSense research capture. The selected folder must contain manifest.json.

Open extension management
Enter chrome://extensions in Chrome, or edge://extensions in Edge.

Load the folder
- Enable Developer mode.
- Select Load unpacked.
- Choose the extracted folder containing
manifest.json.

Pin and refresh
Click the puzzle-piece button at the top right of the browser (just right of the address bar), then click the pin next to TrafficSense research capture.
Then refresh any TrafficSense, Mobile Road, or Google Maps tabs that were already open, and click the extension icon.

Download the ZIP above
It always contains the current research-capture release.

Copy its contents over your existing folder
Extract the ZIP, then copy everything inside it into the same folder you loaded originally, replacing its files. Do not remove or uninstall the extension — uninstalling can erase its local workspace.

Reload
On chrome://extensions, click Reload on the TrafficSense research capture card, then refresh any TrafficSense, Mobile Road, or Google Maps tabs that were already open.
Help
Extension missing after install: load the extracted folder, not the ZIP.
Changes not visible after updating: close/reopen the side panel for UI-only updates; use Reload on chrome://extensions when the manifest, service worker, or content scripts change.
A too-old ZIP cannot start a new sync: queued pending stays; install this ZIP and retry.
